Financing service dogs often is necessary because custom-trained service dogs are expensive. Training a reliable service dog takes a long time and an extensive skill set. Service dog trainers spent a lot of time and money building their skills. As a result, they have highly sought-after skills. Many service dog trainers have waiting lists.
Custom service dogs cost anywhere between $20,000 to $60,000. As a result, many people, who need a service dog, can’t afford one easily. Military veterans have many support organizations helping with service dog financing. But civilian help is scarce. Therefore, we always look for partners to support you in getting your service dog. We offer (or support) the following service dog financing options:
Total K9 Focus: Installment Plan
Total K9 Focus offers payment plans for qualifying customers. We will run a background and credit check to assess if you qualify for our internal service dog financing option. The non-refundable cost is $150. If you qualify, we will allow you to pay for your service dog with monthly installments during the training program duration. This installment plan consists of an initial down payment and a 10% total payment plan fee with each payment. Monthly payments are automatically charged to your credit card or through PayPal.
For example, your total service dog price was $35,000 and the estimated training duration was 18 months. You make an initial down payment of $15,000 at the beginning of the program and then pay the remaining balance off over the following 12 months (regardless of training duration). In this example, that would be $35,000 – $15,000 = $20,000 / 12 months = $1,666.67 per month + 10% = $1,833.34 per month for 12 months. That means your total payment including financing charges would be $37,000.08.
If you qualify and choose this option, the dog will remain our property or collateral until the entire contract is paid in full.
Service Dog Financing with Lending USA
We have partnered with Lending USA to allow you to finance your service dog over longer time periods. This option will generally result in the lowest monthly payment. Lending USA allows service dog financing for up to $47,000 over 3-5 years and works with credit scores as low as 560. If we work together, we will include an application link with our service dog proposal so you can check how much Lending USA can offer in your case. Please know, that we are not involved with and have no influence over their credit decisions.
